Ryle, J.C. - Light From Old Times - Illustrated Coronation Edition (c.1902)
A very good antique edition of Ryle’s Protestant Facts and Men, or later known as Light From Old Times. This book covers many of the great Protestants in Ryle’s estimation. This particular printing is a ‘coronation edition’, coinciding with the death of Queen Victoria and the coronation of King Edward VII in 1901.
Charles Thynne was the publisher that took over for William Hunt—who printed much of Ryle’s original works. This work continues to be reprinted by modern publishers. . . . but there is nothing like an antique version of it on your shelf instead!
